25 Ways to Partner with Dorchester Habitat

  1. Volunteer at the ReStore or Build Site. Individuals and Groups welcome!
  2. Become part of the Habitat Leadership Team by joining one of these committees: Special Event Planning, Grant Research, Marketing/Public Relations, or the Site Selection Team.
  3. Become a Carpenters’ Club member by pledging $25 or more towards each home built. Dorchester Habitat typically build four homes a year.
  4. Attend or sponsor one of the many fundraising events throughout the year. Some of these include the Habitat Gala & Golf Classic, Lowcountry Boil and Tennis Classic.
  5. Donate your stuff! Whether you’re renovating your home, cleaning your garage, downsizing or decluttering, the ReStore truck will pick up and remove your home improvement items and building materials for free!
  6. Shop at our ReStore. Shopping at our ReStore makes your home improvement needs more affordable while helping to make the dream of homeownership a reality for low-income families.
  7. Sponsor a Habitat home. We have multiple levels of sponsorship opportunities to build better lives, and offer hands-on experience opportunities all throughout the build.
  8. Like Dorchester Habitat’s social media pages and share posts with your friends.
  1. Participate in Habitat’s Cars for Homes program. Donate a car, truck, boat, ATV, RTV, motorcycle, trailer, construction or farm equipment- running or not!
  2. Leave a Legacy. Plan your bequest to Dorchester Habitat for Humanity. Put your donation to work today or benefit us after your lifetime.
  3. Play golf in our annual Habitat Golf Classic. All golfers get two tickets to the Gala that evening and are served food and beverages all day.
  4. Donate or discount land for Dorchester Habitat to build on.
  5. Tell a friend about Habitat’s important housing mission.
  6. Donate building materials or subcontractor labor.
  7. Participate in our Angel Tree Christmas campaign by making a year-end donation to support our Construction Program.
  8. Get involved with our annual Women Build. We encourage women from all walks of life to take a proactive step in serving our community. No experience necessary.
  9. Get involved with our Faith Build. Is your church or bible study group looking for ways to give back? We welcome groups of all faith backgrounds to volunteer on our build site.
  10. Start a Collegiate Challenge. College students can organize a volunteer group during their semester break to build homes with Habitat.
  11. Host a fundraising event. The options are limitless – and so is the impact! Host a wine social or dinner, or knock something off your bucket list. Planning to run that marathon? Do it in the name of Dorchester Habitat for Humanity and raise donations in honor of your personal accomplishment.
  12. Attend one of our Home Dedication Ceremonies. Celebrate with us as we hand over the keys to our newest homeowners.
  13. Consider us for your Community Service hours. Habitat works with individuals who need to complete community service hours- including select court-ordered community restitution, and students for service learning.
  14. Prepare and deliver food to volunteer groups on the build site or bring snacks to the ReStore volunteers.
  15. Apply for a home. Are you willing to partner with Dorchester Habitat for Humanity to become a Homeowner? Come to one of our upcoming Information meetings to see if you qualify.
  16. Outreach. Include Dorchester Habitat information in your church or company newsletter. Invite Habitat to speak to your congregation or another community group.
  17. Become an Advocate. When you advocate on behalf of Habitat for Humanity, you will join people in your own community and all over the world who believe that everyone deserves a decent place to live.
