25 Ways to Partner with Dorchester Habitat

  1. Volunteer at the ReStore or Build Site. Individuals and Groups are welcome!
  2. Join one of Dorchester Habitat’s committees: Special Event Planning, Homeowner Selection, or Site Selection Team.
  3. Become a Carpenters’ Club member by pledging $25 or more towards each home built. Dorchester Habitat typically builds five homes a year.
  4. Attend or sponsor one of our fundraising events throughout the year. This includes the Habitat Golf Classic and the Lowcountry Blast & Boil.
  5. Donate your stuff! Whether you’re renovating your home, cleaning your garage, downsizing or decluttering, the ReStore truck will pick up and remove your home improvement items and building materials for free!
  6. Shop at our ReStore. Shopping at our ReStore makes your home improvement needs more affordable while helping to make the dream of homeownership a reality for low-income families.
  7. Sponsor a Habitat home. We have multiple levels of sponsorship opportunities to build better lives, and offer hands-on experience opportunities all throughout the build.
  8. Like Dorchester Habitat’s social media pages and share posts with your friends.
  1. Participate in Habitat’s Cars for Homes program. Donate a car, truck, boat, ATV, RTV, motorcycle, trailer, construction or farm equipment- running or not!
  2. Leave a Legacy. Plan your bequest to Dorchester Habitat for Humanity. Put your donation to work today or benefit us after your lifetime.
  3. Play golf in our annual Habitat Golf Classic.

  9. Get involved with our Faith Build. Is your church or bible study group looking for ways to give back? We welcome groups of all faith backgrounds to volunteer on our build site.
  10. Start a Collegiate Challenge. College students can organize a volunteer group during their semester break to build homes with Habitat.
  11. Host a fundraising event. The options are limitless – and so is the impact! Host a wine social or dinner, or knock something off your bucket list. Planning to run that marathon? Do it in the name of Dorchester Habitat for Humanity and raise donations in honor of your personal accomplishment.
  12. Attend one of our Home Dedication Ceremonies. Celebrate with us as we hand over the keys to our newest homeowners.
  13. Consider us for your Community Service hours. Habitat works with individuals who need to complete community service hours- including select court-ordered community restitution, and students for service learning.
  14. Prepare and deliver food to volunteer groups on the build site or bring snacks to the ReStore volunteers.
  15. Apply for a home. Are you willing to partner with Dorchester Habitat for Humanity to become a Homeowner? Download an application on our website during the next Open Application Session.
  16. Outreach. Include Dorchester Habitat information in your church or company newsletter. Invite Habitat to speak to your congregation or another community group.
  17. Become an Advocate. When you advocate on behalf of Habitat for Humanity, you will join people in your own community and all over the world who believe that everyone deserves a decent place to live.
